Dan Schoental was diagnosed in 2015 with Parkinson’s disease in 2015. He is hiking the Appalachian Trail as a fundraiser for Parkinson’s Disease. He will be on the Today Show Sunday. Morning. Check it out. You might also see Matt, his hiking partner sporting an Uncle Johnnys t-shirt.

Good morning. I want to take this opportunity to remind everyone that Uncle Johnnys is open for business. We’re getting hikers daily and we “are loving every minute of it”!!! I want to remind people of all of our services. We have a fully equipped outfitter store Osprey packs, Big Agnes tents, Mountain House foods, Darn Tuff socks, all fuels, sleeping bags, hammocking gear, etc. We also provide shuttle services, both town and trailhead. We have cabins, camping, tenting and hammocking available all at very reasonable prices. We have laundry services on site, shower services and can assist with mail. If you can think of it and it’s legal we probably can help you out. It’s been a long cold winter and we are definitely looking forward to this hiking season. See you soon!

Despite all of the chaos of 2020 Uncle Johnnys is continuing to rock along with thru hikers, section hikers and making new friends. We have had a decent enough season that we are still afloat but we can’t wait for 2021. Everyone has been so thoughtful, kind and encouraging about this awful year. I cannnot thank our hikers, friends and guests enough for the support and love that we have received this year.

We will be changing our hours from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm effective 12/7/20 until 2/15/2021. At that point we will return to 8:30 to 7:00pm daily.

We will be closed from 12/19 until January 11th for the holidays. I apologize for any inconvenience.

I am so ready to usher this year out. I can’t wait to see old friends and make new ones. I promise I will be better at updating the page this upcoming year.
