Today marks a day of profound historical loss. It is also a day when numerous individuals have been rendered homeless. Furthermore, it is a day when employment opportunities have been lost. However, it is also a day when every life has been saved. Moreover, it is a day when the community has once again demonstrated its resilience by coming together. I extend my sincerest gratitude to everyone who has reached out to me, our staff, and our tenants. I would like to express a special thank you to the Escanaba Fire Department and all volunteer fire departments in our area.

It is with profound sadness, as we all watch The House Of Ludington, a place we all love, full of over 160 years of Escanaba's history go up in smoke. It's a tragic day.

I was so excited to slide down the old chimney last night!
