๐ŸŒ… There's Just Something Special About Sunrise in Estes Park... ๐Ÿ”๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

If you're willing to set the alarm a little earlier, Estes Park rewards you with some unforgettable mornings.

As the first rays of sunlight peek over the mountains, the alpine lakes become glassy mirrors, the peaks begin to glow, and the whole landscape comes alive in a way that's hard to describe. It's peaceful, quiet, and one of our favorite times to explore Rocky Mountain National Park.

Whether you're catching the sunrise at an alpine lake, watching the colors change from a scenic overlook, or simply enjoying a cup of coffee before your next adventure, mornings in the mountains are truly something special.

๐Ÿ‚ Now is an incredible time to visit! August weekdays have become much quieter as many families head home and kids return to school. You can enjoy beautiful weather, fewer crowds, and all the beauty of Estes Park before the fall season arrives.

After your sunrise adventure, come back and relax at Estes Mountain Innโ€”your home base for exploring Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.

๐Ÿ”๏ธ One of America's Most Scenic Drives... and Only Open a Little Longer! ๐Ÿš—

A visit to Estes Park isn't complete without driving Trail Ridge Roadโ€”the highest continuous paved road in North America! Climbing to 12,183 feet, this incredible drive takes you above the trees and into breathtaking alpine tundra with panoramic views you'll never forget.

A few fun facts:
๐ŸŒ„ Trail Ridge Road reaches an elevation of 12,183 feet.
๐ŸŒผ It crosses one of Colorado's largest alpine tundra ecosystems.
๐ŸฆŒ Wildlife sightings are common, including elk, marmots, bighorn sheep, and sometimes even moose.
๐Ÿ‚ The road is typically only open seasonally and is expected to remain open for just a few more weeks, weather permitting. Early snowfall can bring temporary closures or end the season, so now is a wonderful time to experience this unforgettable drive.
โ˜€๏ธ Looking for a quieter mountain getaway? August has become one of our favorite times to visit. With many families heading home and kids returning to school, weekdays around town are noticeably less crowded. You'll find shorter waits at restaurants, more room on hiking trails, and an even more relaxing Estes Park experience.

After a day exploring Rocky Mountain National Park, come back and unwind at Estes Mountain Innโ€”your perfect home base for mountain adventures.

๐Ÿ’™ Now is a great time to plan your Estes Park escape before fall arrives!

๐Ÿ“ Have you driven Trail Ridge Road? What's your favorite overlook or memory from the drive?

๐ŸฆŒ Only in Estes Park... an Elk Jam! ๐Ÿš—

Around here, traffic sometimes comes to a stop for a pretty incredible reason... our local elk! ๐Ÿ˜„

If you're visiting Estes Park, don't be surprised if your drive through town includes an unforgettable wildlife encounter. During the fall elk rut, seeing an "elk jam" is all part of the mountain experienceโ€”and hearing the bugling of the bull elk is something you'll never forget.

If you come across wildlife:
๐ŸฆŒ Give them plenty of space.
๐Ÿ“ธ Snap a photo from a safe distance.
๐Ÿš— Relax, be patient, and enjoy the moment. It's not every day a herd of elk has the right of way!
๐Ÿ‚ Fall is one of the most beautiful times to visit Estes Park, with golden aspens, crisp mountain air, and incredible wildlife viewing around every corner.

๐Ÿ”๏ธ Planning a fall getaway? We'd love to welcome you to Estes Mountain Inn!

๐Ÿ’ฌ Have you ever experienced an elk jam in Estes Park? Tell us where it happened or share your favorite wildlife memory in the comments!

๐ŸŒฒ Hidden Gems of Estes Park ๐ŸŒฒ

Part 1: Five Local Favorites You Won't Want to Miss โœจ
Looking to experience Estes Park like a local? While everyone knows about Bear Lake and downtown, here are five of our favorite spots that many visitors overlook!

๐Ÿ”๏ธ 1. Loch Lake at Sunrise
Beat the crowds and watch the morning light reflect off one of Rocky Mountain National Park's most beautiful alpine lakes. Early mornings here are peaceful, unforgettable, and often offer great wildlife viewing.

๐Ÿฅพ 2. Andrews Glacier
One of our absolute favorite hikes! It's nearly as breathtaking as Sky Pond but sees far fewer hikers. If you're looking for incredible scenery without some of the crowds, this one deserves a spot on your itinerary.

โ˜• 3. Coffee on the Rocks
Grab a fresh cup of coffee (or an evening cocktail!), relax by the pond, and feed the ducks while enjoying the mountain atmosphere. It's one of the most relaxing places in town and a favorite among both locals and visitors.

๐ŸŽณ 4. The Bull Pin
Need a fun break after a day of hiking? The Bull Pin is open year-round and is perfect for families, rainy afternoons, or evenings out. Enjoy bowling, arcade games, and don't miss 50ยข wings every Wednesday! ๐Ÿ—

๐Ÿ–๏ธ 5. Lake Estes
Bring a picnic, let the kids play in the sand, rent a bike, or enjoy the beautiful 3.75-mile trail around the lake. It's one of the most relaxing ways to spend an afternoon in Estes Park.

๐Ÿ’ฌ What's your favorite hidden gem in Estes Park? We'd love to hear your recommendations in the comments!

๐Ÿ”๏ธ Staying with us? Our team is always happy to share even more local favorites to help you experience Estes Park like a local.

๐Ÿพ Bring Your Best Friend to Estes Park! ๐Ÿ”๏ธโค๏ธ

At Estes Mountain Inn, we know vacations are even better when your four-legged family member comes along. That's why we're proud to offer pet-friendly rooms and love welcoming our furry guests! ๐Ÿถ

Looking for dog-friendly adventures? Here are a few of our favorites:
๐Ÿฅพ Hermit Park Open Space โ€“ One of our favorite places to hike with dogs! Just minutes from downtown, this beautiful open space offers miles of scenic, dog-friendly trails with incredible mountain views. Dogs are welcome on leash.
๐ŸŒฒ Brainard Lake Recreation Area โ€“ Worth the drive! The alpine scenery is breathtaking, and several trails outside Rocky Mountain National Park are dog-friendly, making it one of our favorite day trips with our pups.
๐Ÿšถ Lake Estes Trail โ€“ An easy, scenic walk around the lake that's perfect for the whole family (including your dog!). It's a great way to enjoy mountain views without a strenuous hike.

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ After your adventure, relax on one of Estes Park's dog-friendly patios. Some of our favorites include:
Himalayan Curry & Kebob
El Mex-Kal
The Rock Inn Mountain Tavern

๐Ÿพ A quick reminder: While dogs are welcome in many areas around Estes Park, they are not permitted on hiking trails inside Rocky Mountain National Park (except certain paved areas, campgrounds, picnic areas, and roadsides). Fortunately, there are plenty of incredible dog-friendly trails just outside the park!
