As summer approaches, it's important to know about the Timed Entry Permit System when planning your trip to Rocky Mountain National Park.

Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the most visited national parks in the country and summer is its busiest season. A timed entry permit system has been implemented to provide a better visitor experience and to protect the park's resources.

Timed entry permits are required to enter the Park from May 26 through October 22, 2023, entrance passes continue to be required.

Beginning today, October 11, Timed Entry Permits are no longer required to enter Rocky Mountain National Park. A pilot Timed Entry Permit Reservation System has been in place during the busiest hours of the day and during the park's peak summer season to help reduce negative resource impacts, traffic congestion, and visitor crowding.

Visitors planning to come to Rocky Mountain National Park, especially on weekends, should be prepared for long lines and traffic congestion throughout the park. A valid park entrance pass is required to enter RMNP 24 hours a day/seven days a week.

- Tips for Visiting Rocky Mountain National Park:

🌳 Pack Your Patience - Expect crowds in parking areas and on trails
⛰️ Be Prepared when You Arrive - If you already have a park pass, have your park pass and photo ID out and ready to show the park ranger at the entrance gate
🍂 Have a Plan - Take time to decide before you arrive what you would like to see and do. Visit www.nps.gov/romo to see park maps and more.
🥾 Know Your Limits - When recreating in the park, know the limits of everyone in your group. Watch the weather and be prepared to turn back if people are tired or if the weather changes unexpectedly.

FREE and FUN Fall Festival with activities and entertainment for all ages. The perfect place to pick your pumpkins with live music and craft beer for the adults, as well as pony rides, air tattoos and more. Bring the whole family and plan a fall outing around this great Estes Park Festival & Fundraiser!
Kids can enjoy free activities like pony rides, strider course (bikes and helmets provided), air tattoos, slack line and other fun lawn games.
The pumpkin patch sells pumpkins for $7 each and you can set them aside in the well-guarded 'sold' corral while you enjoy the festival.
Each year a hand-picked selection of seasonal, local craft beers are on hand. Sip suds from a souvenir glass - featuring LOCAL brews from Avant Garde Aleworks, Rock Cut Brewing Company, Estes Park Brewery and Lumpy Ridge Brewing Co.
Then, grab a bite from one of the food trucks featuring comfort foods, festival favorites and tasty treats!
This incredible event is the largest annual fundraiser for our favorite local non-profit organization ~ the Estes Park Education Foundation (EPEF). All profits from the festival go directly back into the Estes Valley community to support students, teachers and education in Estes Park.
