A Brave New World Hostel
Mac’s ’85 Westy sprung a leak as he was heading north to Eugene, Oregon. He and his partner had just flown in to Cali after a five-year stint in Europe where he’d been directing a youth program and busking on the side. He booked a gig at a local venue and found a temporary space to stay while repairs were underway. The musician would come to learn he had been derailed in the Whiteaker -- a neighborhood full of debauchery and charm -- and reluctantly discovered it was the perfect spot for a hostel. Since then, Mac has been filling his hostel with colorful instruments, art, and friendly folks -- fostering an environment of interconnectedness and creativity. Guests enjoy rooms setup to make them feel comfortable, whether bunking with new friends or having their own full or queen sized bed and bath. Everyone can gather in the common areas for a free breakfast and share tales of their travels.When you’re in our guest book, your story will live on long past your visit to the Eugene Hostel.
