Summer is beginning to linger a little longer in the evenings, and the first cool mornings are quietly reminding us that a change of season is on its way.

Before autumn arrives, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the beauty that surrounds the Peabody House this time of year. Luna moths, woodland mushrooms after the rain, deer wandering through the gardens, misty mornings, golden sunsets, moonlit skies, long afternoons beneath the trees, and the lull of cicadas singing into the evening.

Every season brings something special here in Eureka Springs, and one of our favorite things about this old house is watching the landscape change right outside the windows.

We are looking forward to all the beauty and local events that autumn will bring, but for now, we are savoring these last peaceful days of summer.

Exciting things are happening at the Peabody House!

This week we’re beginning the next phase of improvements to our beautiful 1883 Victorian. The old lattice and staircase enclosure have been removed, and soon we’ll be installing brand-new stairs, fresh lattice, and a fresh coat of paint to brighten up the entrance.

As with any historic home, a little renovation means things may look a bit messy before they look beautiful. We appreciate everyone’s patience while we give this special old house the care it deserves.

Every project helps preserve a little more of the Peabody House’s history while making it even more welcoming for our guests. We can’t wait to share the finished transformation with you!

This morning, we had a special little breakfast guest stop by the Peabody House. 🦌

While our guests were enjoying breakfast in the parlor, this sweet fawn wandered up onto the front porch and peeked through the window as if checking in on everyone. It was such a magical Ozarks moment and a reminder of the beauty that surrounds us here every day.

A heartfelt thank you to our guests for sharing these wonderful photos with us. We know this is a memory none of us will soon forget. ❤️
