Prize Winning Baby Back Ribs
Ingredients:
2 racks of baby back ribs (about 4-5 lbs)
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons paprika
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
1 cup barbecue sauce
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt to taste
Directions:
Remove the membrane from the back of the ribs with a paper towel for a better grip.
In a bowl, mix brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and salt.
Rub the spice mixture all over the ribs. Let them marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight in the refrigerator for best results.
Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C). Wrap the ribs tightly in foil and place them on a baking sheet.
Bake for about 2.5 to 3 hours, or until the meat is tender and pulls away from the bones.
In a saucepan, combine barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Remove the ribs from the oven, discard the foil, and brush them with the sauce mixture.
Increase the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C). Return the ribs to the oven, uncovered, and bake for an additional 20 minutes, basting with more sauce halfway through.
Let the ribs rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
