One of the noblest callings is one in which a man's labor feeds another.

We often talk about the importance of visitors understanding where their food comes from, and how that understanding might foster a deeper respect and appreciation for the Chesapeake Bay and the men who have worked this water for hundreds of years.

It is with great sadness, that we share the news of a local waterman's unexpected passing this morning.

Again, we are reminded of the price sometimes paid for the sea's bounty.

Our prayers and deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased.

Our thoughts are with you during this most difficult time.

People always ask me about the name of our cottage. Well, "Goose" was the nickname my father gave me, and "ungovernable" was what I always seemed to be! "Ungovernable" is not about anarchy or chaos. It's not about living in any way, at the expense of others. Becoming ungovernable is about resisting the comfort and safety of "the box". It's about being yourself despite what anyone expects of you. It's about coloring outside the lines. It's about autonomy and being responsible for your own happiness.

If I had to sum up this philosophy in pictures, it would be the recent photos of one of my favorite celebrities, Jack Nicholson, living his very best life! Love you, Jack! ❤️
