There is a rodeo Friday and Saturday night just down the road at Rockin' A Ranch. Hensley Settlement and Cave tours have started at the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park and Martin Station at Wilderness Road State Park is always a fun place to visit.

🤠🐂 The NCA Pro Rodeo is coming to Rockin’ A Ranch in Ewing, VA this Friday & Saturday, May 29-30!

Get ready for a full night of rodeo action featuring roping, broncs, barrel racing, bulls, and rodeo clown entertainment the whole family will enjoy! Plus pony rides, a petting zoo, food trucks, and live music by Blake Branscom.

Tours to Gap Cave and Hensley Settlement return this May!
Ready to explore some of the most fascinating places at Cumberland Gap National Historical Park?

Gap Cave Tours begin May 6:
• Monday–Friday at 10 am
• Saturday at 10 am and 1:30 pm
• Sunday at 1:30 pm

Hensley Settlement Tours begin May 15:
• Friday–Monday at 10 am

Reservations can be made up to one month in advance. To book your spot, call the visitor center at 606-248-2817.

This May, step back into the spring of 1776, when the spark of revolution was igniting across the American colonies and into the far corners of the western frontier.

At Martin’s Station, freedom was more than an idea. It was carved into every mile of the old buffalo trace and lived out in the determination of those building new communities in the wilderness.

From May 8 to May 10, visit Martin’s Station to experience this rising spirit of independence at our special Virginia for Liberty: 1776 event.

Everything is greening up, the rhododendron is just starting to bloom, and it’s a beautiful time to get out and ride or hike. A trip up to Hensley Settlement is absolutely worth it right now—one of the most scenic spots in the area!
