In recent days the Chef gets down in the kitchen before the sun is up. Coffee ready early and guests started coming to breakfast at 8:02 am to enjoy their hot breakfast of a full size frittata, maple sausages and cream cheese scones. Scones take 20 minutes to cook in a 350 degree oven. Savannah arrived in the dark too just before 7 am and quickly went into setting up breakfast. Two more rooms of guests arrive this afternoon. Traveling Innkeeper arrived home earlier than expected due to his flying assignment being cut short.

Morning temperature started out a 49 degrees and after 10 am it is lower at 48 degrees. Guests enjoyed coffee at 7:30 am and breakfast at 8 am. Savannah was the breakfast assistant completing setup and served. There wasn't one strip of bacon left. Guests left right after enjoying breakfast for their day's outing. Traveling Innkeeper is in Texas being an instructor in a Global Vision 5,000. More guests arrive tomorrow.

Warmer morning temperatures after a night time lightning and thunder storm. Guests chose the very decent breakfast time of 9:00 am to have their hot breakfast. Decaf & regular coffee were prepared. Our repeat guests have already checked out to continue on their travels around Vermont. Savannah was the breakfast assistant doing setup & serving. She is now catching up on laundry & ironing. Chef cleared breakfast so Savannah could continue working on ironing. Our son, Alex has hurt his shoulder so taking out air conditioners is going to have to wait.

Morning rain showers with warmer temperatures. Guests arrive this afternoon to stay for one night and then more rooms arrive tomorrow to stay for three nights. Traveling Innkeeper is on a one week flying teaching assignment. Need to start thinking about buying Halloween candy for the trick or treaters. This morning was a brief break breakfast for guests. Savannah is catching up with ironing, laundry and preparing guests rooms.

Much warmer morning with a temperature of 50 degrees at 6:40 am. First couple came to breakfast at 8 am, three couples at 8:30 and the last couple at 8:45 am. Traveling Innkeeper took care of preparing two pans of maple sausages while the Chef put together four frittatas, one was the full recipe for four and three frittatas for couples. All of our guests checked out right after breakfast. For the rest of the week our Inn has guests.

Traveling Innkeeper and our son Alex worked on the coal boiler yesterday to get it prepared for this winter's heating season. We are heating with oil right now which is rather expensive at this time. After attending the Fair Haven United Methodist Church at 11:30 am this morning traveling Innkeeper and Alex will do more work on the coal boiler.

Only 39 degrees out at 6:20 am when our Chef was down in the kitchen to start preparing six egg dishes and mauna loa muffin batter. Traveling Innkeeper helped with preparing three pans of thick maple bacon and one small pan of maple sausages. Savannah set out the juice & milk goblets, berries and mixed breads such as bagels & english muffins. Two rooms checked out after a two night stay and five rooms stay another night. All the remaining guests are attending a wedding this afternoon. Both traveling Innkeeper and Savannah served the hot breakfasts.

A much colder morning with guests enjoying breakfast at 8 am sharp. Guests finished breakfast quickly and left for their day's events. More rooms arrive today to stay for two nights. Tables are already being set. At this time of year available Inn and Bed & Breakfast guest rooms are few and far between. Reservations should have been made weeks or months ago. Calling to get a room on the evening you need a room is not wise. For Vermont this weekend and next are the most popular of the year in Vermont.

A warmer fall morning with guests enjoying breakfast at 8:30 am. On the menu was a full size frittata, maple bacon and orange zest scones with a creamy orange maple glaze. Guests checked out right after breakfast. More guests arrive today to stay for two nights. Savannah did breakfast setup and swerved with traveling Innkeeper's help.

Cooler fall night but temperature warming up in the morning. Guests chose the decent time of 9 am to enjoy a hot breakfast. On the menu was a hot egg dish, thick maple bacon and waffles to go along with fresh berries and warmed maple syrup. Guests starting having coffee at 7 am. Guests had a pretty long visit with the traveling Innkeeper which delayed breakfast cleanup. Guests checked out before 10:30 am. Savannah is already working on preparing the room for today's incoming guests. Heating oil had to be delivered for the second time since temperatures are much cooler.
