Another morning of solid grey skies after night time rain showers. Warmer temperatures this morning while guests enjoyed breakfast at 8:30 and 9 am. Laundry was got up on yesterday so more ironing today. One room stays two more nights and one room arrives today. Need to start thinking about fall decorating,

Solid grey skies again with rain in the forecast. First breakfast was at 8 am and the second at 9 am. Breakfast assistant was Savannah and traveling Innkeeper prepared one pan of maple bacon. One couple has checked out so the flipping of one guest room has already started. One more room arrives this afternoon.

On this day of on and off again light rain showers the traveling Innkeeper is scrapping paint off on the south porch door surround. Guest have arrived and left to attend a wedding reception. Savannah spent all day ironing.

08/31/2026

Early morning fog with the ground warmer than the air. It is catch up day for laundry and flipping rooms. No guests arrive today giving us time to completely catch up before a busy week starts tomorrow with two rooms of guests arriving. Savannah finished flipping three rooms yesterday. Innkeeper finished two loads of laundry yesterday evening and two this morning. There will be a lot of ironing to do since we iron pillow cases & sheets. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes in a busy Bed and Breakfast. Our son, Alex helps traveling Innkeeper with the heavier work out in our yard. Trimming trees was yesterday's yard project.

A cooler overcast morning with both Innkeepers getting up before 6 am. Chef was down in the kitchen before 6:30 am to start breakfast prep. Our first guests came to breakfast at 8 am. A few guests chose not to have breakfast and instead got a coffee to go. Coffee was ready at 7:30 due to guests requesting early coffee. Pastry of the morning were waffles with warm maple syrup. All guests checked out before 10:15 am before breakfast cleanup even began.

Much cooler early morning temperatures. Guests started coming to breakfast at 8 am and then 9 am. Chef was down in the kitchen early at 6:30 am. Savannah arrived at 7 am to start breakfast setup, helped with dishes and then served breakfast. Traveling Innkeeper and son Alex trimmed a tree after guests had finished breakfast. The morning ended with beautiful sunshine and a soft breeze. Four more rooms arrive today and one guest stays another night.

On this beautiful morning our Inn hosted a weekly Bible Study at 10 am. Before Bible Study, Innkeepers went over to Michelle's Sweet Creations & Old School Bagels Shop to purchase cinnamon rolls for Bible Study students to enjoy. The cinnamon rolls were big and very sweet. Traveling Innkeeper also purchased two everything bagels and one huge peanut butter cookie. This new downtown business is a great addition to Fair Haven's downtown. Our Inn will certainly buying more bake goods from them in the future.

Early morning sunshine but now the skies are overcast. It is. a waffle sort of day with guests coming to the breakfast table at 8:30 to enjoy Belgium waffles with warm maple syrup, maple sausages and an herb & cheese frittata. Breakfast server was Savannah. Painting continues of the porté corchére ceiling and more work has been completed on the northwest porch column.
Might have a few rain showers today.

Several rain showers so far today. Our contractor and painter were back today continuing the work on the porch ceiling and column. Our electrician is also here doing a couple of inside small electrical jobs, finishing installing a new electric outlet on the north porch and installing another one where a very old electric outlet in a north porch column. Rusty, our electrician is still working underneath the porté corchére replacing the second electrical outlet.

Much cooler morning temperatures. Later breakfast times this morning with the first couple came to the breakfast table at 9 am and then 9:15 am. These guests said they would be back and really enjoyed our "hot out of the oven" breakfast meal. Savannah as usual was the breakfast assistant and traveling Innkeeper prepared a pan of maple bacon & sausage. Work continues on the south side flower bed slate wall. Iron railings are still being put together for the new south porch marble steps.
Contractor, Ron Jurnack,is in his shop making more trim for the north porch column.
