Vet Camp at Maison’ Lay

The vision of Vet Camp at Maison’ Lay . . . a social center for veterans and military families of all branches. Vet Camp will also offer short-term cabin rentals with discounted rates for military.

Some of the prospective amenities include free day use for registered military affiliated guests and their families, yoga for warriors to kids, Heroes Cup Coffee House, scheduled exercise classes and outings, monthly military family pot lucks, and a vet tech center (computer and printer access).

MSG needs a space to engage with other veterans, and we know there are ao many more needing the same. They dont need a “business” ran organization, but just a social avenue with their peers, and sometimes with their families. This is the vision of Vet Camp.

Vet Camp has just started development. . . . Vets are always welcome to bring a chair, stop by, hangout, or even grab a hammer and shovel, Starting November 3rd.

We want this to be your home away from home; your place of rest, retreat and socialization.

All Freestone County Vets events for the remainder of October have been cancelled as we are out of state due to a death in our extended family.

November dates will be posted within the week.

The first of many buildings will be delivered to the land tomorrow. This will be laundry, restroom, vending and camp store for veterans and cabin renters. There will also be a “vet tech” area providing a computer and printer area for veteran’s usage. Offices will be located in this building as well. Here is a vision of “The Command Post” at Vet Camp.

What is the vision for Vet Camp?

Vet Camp is under development, with a soft opening for phase 1 planned for January 2026.

Vet Camp will include cabin rentals open to the public, with discounted military rate.

It will also be a retreat center available for day use at no charge to vets/military. It would only require registration, 1 time proof of status, and daily sign in.

This will house many things such as a walking trail, outdoor fitness center, indoor fitness center, pond w/fishing, fire pit, memorial garden, coffee shop, pet therapy, goat yoga (adults & kids - civilians welcome for fee); we will have a “mess hall” with space for get togethers, pot lucks, and cpr classes; plans also include a confidence coirse, kids playground, indoor gameroom, vet tech center with computer and printer, laundry center, camp store, etc. We have a long way to go.
