Americans enjoyed the World Cup, as well as the progress of German superfan Freddy, known only through his X profile, and his observations on American highways, restaurants and culture.

Back at home now, Freddy - who managed to remain unidentified during his stay - is answering some questions about his time in the United States, and his favorite US city was a surprise to many: Fairhope, Alabama.

“I could live here,” he wrote, showing a moss-covered tree-lined road with waterfront houses at day’s end. “Camera doesn’t do it any justice. Sunset looked way better.”
