🍁 What an amazing homesteading season it's been! 🍁
Our hearts are full of gratitude for everyone who has supported Trail's End Homestead this year! ❤️
We still have a few bottles of our homemade maple syrup, jars of honey, and bars of artisan soap left before we close the stand for the season.
🍯 Message me if you'd like anything! I'd love to see these goodies go to happy homes rather than pack them away for winter! 😊
Thank you all for making this season so special! 🧡

💙🐦 Northern Michigan Nature Fact: Beautiful Blue Jays!
Did you know blue jays are little forest gardeners? 🌳🍂
During the fall, these clever birds gather acorns and bury them in hiding places for winter. Some of those forgotten acorns eventually sprout into new oak trees!
And here's another amazing fact—their feathers aren't actually blue! Tiny structures in their feathers scatter light, creating that beautiful blue color we see.
They may be noisy and a little bossy at the bird feeder, but these beautiful birds play an important role in God's creation! ❤️
Do you have blue jays visiting your yard?

🐝❤️ A BEE-utiful Way to Show Our Appreciation! ❤️🐝
October is Pastor Appreciation Month, and we sure do love Pastor Jody & Wendy! ❤️
Cards and gifts are wonderful, but this year we decided to do something a little EXTRA… a surprise mini parade right past their house! 🚒🚜🚛
There was a firetruck, semi, tractor, and all kinds of decorated vehicles spreading love and appreciation!
Jon and I even suited up as beekeepers to join the fun! 🐝🍯
Lots of smiles, laughter, and love for two very special people who mean so much to our church family! ❤️
We love you, Pastor Jody & Wendy!

🦨🌙 If holes & patches of lawn seem to be dug up overnight, a skunk or raccoon may be searching for grubs, earthworms, turtle eggs, and other soil insects. Skunks usually leave clusters of smaller holes, and may roll the sod with their nose, while raccoons may lift and roll back pieces of sod with their front paws. 🐻 Bear will dig up ant hills, turn over rocks, logs, and dig up stumps looking for food.
There’s a whole nighttime world at work around our yards while we’re sleeping! 🍂❤️

When your friend gives you a HUGE Hen of the Woods mushroom!!! 🍄🤎
Talk about a fall treasure! This beauty is going to take some time to clean and process, but what a wonderful problem to have. 😂 I'm thinking some for dinner, some for the freezer, and some for this canner. There will be plenty to enjoy later!
Thankful for generous friends and the bounty of fall! 🍂🍄
