We’re open for lunch today — and somehow the best day of the year decided to show up for it. The patio is beautiful, and the menu — along with a glass of wine — is exactly what a glorious spring afternoon in the Litchfield Hills calls for.

While the garden world heads to Trade Secrets for garden tours and inspiration, we’re opening the patio for a special Saturday lunch service — something we seldom do.

You don’t need a Trade Secrets ticket or a reservation. Just come hungry!

Trade Secrets brings the design world to our doorstep this weekend. Garden lovers, antique hunters, designers, and weekend wanderers will be filling the Northwest Corner.

This Saturday only, we’re opening for lunch. You do not need to attend Trade Secrets to join us. Just come hungry. Spend the afternoon outdoors with lunch on the patio, sunshine we haven’t seen since last summer, and a menu built for lingering over a second glass of wine.

And if you’ve ever thought about escaping to the country for a weekend, this is the season. Our five guest rooms feature impossibly comfortable beds dressed in John Robshaw textiles, a designer’s unmistakable eye, and the kind of deep quiet you only find in the Litchfield Hills, where a weekend away truly feels worlds apart.

Lunch served Saturday.
Patio open.
Walk-ins welcome.

It’s National Cocktail Day. Honestly, we didn’t need much of an excuse. Susan and Eric are already doing quality control on a Lemon Drop. The bar opens at 5, and things could go downhill quickly after that.

Tonight’s specials are worth showing up hungry for:
• Burrata Salad with tomatoes, fresh basil, balsamic, and roasted garlic oil
• Hokkaido Sea Scallops over golden beet risotto with sautéed baby bok choy

Cocktails. Good food. Good people. See you at 5!

March goes out like a lamb… and around here, we send it off with wine.

Join us Sunday, March 29, at 2:30 for our Wine Luncheon — a seated afternoon of four courses, each paired with a complimentary wine. Let someone else cook and pour while you enjoy the afternoon.

First course - Schmitt Söhne Dry Riesling
Spinach, mushroom, and onion strudel with roasted garlic and red pepper coulis

Second course - Martin Ray Cabernet
Hand-carved club cut Black Angus striploin with braised cipollini Béarnaise

Third course - Crios Rosé of Malbec
Shrimp baked in extra virgin olive oil with tomatoes, scallions, and smoked paprika, served with warm toasted baguette

Fourth course - Benton Lane Pinot Noir
Braised pork and mushroom risotto topped with freshly grated aged provolone

Michele Elliot will guide the afternoon with her signature mix of insight and warmth, sharing the stories behind each pairing.

If a wine speaks to you, bottles will be available to order through Cornwall Package Store.

We’ve got a great group coming together and room for a few more — join us.

Call 860-824-0033 to reserve your table. $75 per person, tax included. Reservations are required.

St. Paddy’s at the Inn. If you’ve got a little Irish in you, we’ll bring it out. If you don’t, we’ll fix that too.

Corned beef piled high, cabbage that means business, potatoes and carrots doing their job, and a proper pint of Guinness (Vitamin G, doctor’s orders). Grab your seat, grab a pint, and let’s do St. Paddy’s the right way. 🍀

Burger Night is tonight. Storm tomorrow. Which makes this the Official Northwest Corner Winter’s Last Gasp Party. Burgers your way, a locally brewed Norbrook Farm Brewery beer, or a glass of wine, and a taproom full of locals who don’t scare easy. Let winter throw its final punch tomorrow. Tonight, we celebrate.

Want to have some real fun tomorrow at 2pm? It’ll be just above freezing, which around here practically counts as a heat wave. Four courses. Four generous pours. A warm dining room buzzing with a great group already signed on. This is the kind of Sunday that makes winter worth it. Grab a seat, bring a friend, and let’s make an afternoon of it. Call us at 860-824-0033 for reservations.

You can’t count on much these days. But up here? People are built differently. The phones have been ringing all day asking if we’re open. Of course we are. Susan’s digging out because Burger Night doesn’t get canceled for a blizzard. The steps are clear. The grill is on. The bar is open. See you tonight.
