Our Story
Our B&B is blessed by the presence of foxes, beaver, coyotes, eagles, blue herons, Canadian geese, raccoons, deer and YOU! We live in a landscape blessed by desert light. Come to enjoy the play of colors on the mesas and desert floor and you will feel as though you are living in a Georgia O’Keeffe painting. Re imagine the literary characters of Oliver LaFarge’s “Laughing Boy” or Tony Hillerman’s detectives Jim Chee and Joe Leaphorn.
The Silver River Adobe Inn Bed and Breakfast was the first B&B in Farmington opening in August 1989. Our B&B graciously rests on a sandstone cliff, embraced by two rivers, the San Juan and the La Plata. Landscaped with natural vegetation, grandmother cottonwood trees host many of the birds found in the nature reserve like area. Offering elements of luxury with the organic texture of exposed adobes and rough sawn timbers, the three R's define the interior (refined, rustic, relaxing). An eclectic library creates a natural backdrop for the "Salon" style breakfast conversations. Your hosts, David Beers and Diana Ohlson are pleased to offer advice on travel routes, local events, little known places to visit, and dining in the Four Corners.
