The Pirates have kept a watchful eye since we first entered this once-academic space.

They were here long before us—as a mascot for the students and sports teams of the school—and we felt we’d be doing a disservice to scrub them from the memory of the building.

Their presence lingers in quiet, unexpected ways, one eye always open.

It's fair to say we're biased about the charm of Fayetteville and the beauty of the the Gorge, but there's a welcome change of pace in this part of the world that can be hard to come by in a bigger city.

The original sandstone building that once housed Fayetteville High School, has come a long way since renovations began.

The preservation of this property was not only for the students that once walked the halls, but in honor of those who first painstakingly laid these stones.

Those stonemasons, who arrived from Italy in the early 20th century, were some of the first settlers of Fayetteville. You’ll spot their handiwork around town if you look closely when walking around. Many of their descendants still live close by today.

Fun fact: Pulled from the Gorge itself, Nuttall Sandstone has the unique and delightful quality of appearing sparkly pink in a certain light!

There’s not a day that goes by that we don’t think about the thousands of students that once walked these hallways.

For over 75 years, these walls housed classrooms and science labs, lecture rooms and libraries. The Principal’s Office is now where our front desk staff greet you on arrival.

Our design team painstakingly transformed every space from the inside out — preserving the airy openness of the original buildings while adding textured layers of warmth to soften the scale of each room.

It’s a really beautiful end result, and we hope you think so too!
