For being America’s ‘newest’ National Park, the history of the New River Gorge is anything but.

For millennia, the ‘New’ has woven her way through these mountains.

For centuries, communities have found ways to live off the land and its resources.

For decades, adventure-seekers have made it a Mecca within the heart of Appalachia.

And for the best part of several years, we’ve been creating a space for you to return to, after a day spent diving into the myriad of adventures to be found here in the Mountain State.

Ten days ago, the original Fayetteville Middle School reopened with 14 beautifully-restored rooms, to our first overnight visitors.

The High School is getting her final touches as we prepare to open the full property by Labor Day.

Summer’s not over just yet, but hey, you best believe we’ve got fall on our mind (just like you).

As late summer starts to soften, we’re thinking ahead to Gauley Season (Sep 11) and Bridge Day (Oct 17), while making a mental list of all our favorite leaf-peeping hikes.

Patsy’s is now open for dinner service, starting today at 4 pm.

You’ll find us “On The Hill”, inside the original middle school building.

Hours:
Wednesday - Sunday, 4 pm - 9 pm.

Parking is available, and while we don’t take reservations, a call ahead is appreciated for parties of 6 or more so that we can seat thoughtfully prior to your arrival.

In a few short days, the beautifully-restored doors to this century-old property will quietly reopen to our first guests.

Revived completely, and infused with a warmth we hope you’ll feel at first entry, our preservation of these once-academic buildings is our proudest achievement.

We’ve made space for new stories, and memories yet to be made.
