Love creating Maple Syrup? We have the event for you! Sharpe Reservation is looking for maple syrup producers to enter our 2026 Annual Hudson Valley Maple Syrup Contest. Maple producers play an important role in fostering smiles & the spirt of Maple at The Sharpe Maple Celebration. Any producer is welcome, from backyard bottlers to more commercial producers. It is fun competition, all competitors get to meet other producers, and the winner gets free publicity (and of course, the prestige of being called "The Best of the Best"!)

The Orion nebula, about 1,350 light-years from Earth, is more than a thing of beauty in the night sky. Located below the belt of Orion in the Sword of Orion, is the birthplace for many stars in our corner of the universe. Latin for cloud, this nebula is enriched material that, over millions of years, will coalesce to form new solar systems.

However, you don’t need a telescope to appreciate the Orion constellation and the sword of Orion. At Sharpe Reservation, we have a fully-equipped 48-seat theatre where audiences can learn about the wonders of the night sky.

The thick ice and deep snow around Camp Mariah's waterfront at Sharpe Reservation may have summer activities frozen in place, but there are always opportunities to visit and explore Sharpe! We are open to winter day groups and provide lessons and activities such as Animals of the Forest, Worm Ecology, snowshoeing walks and planetarium shows at the Gustafson Planetarium we have on property.
