We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Ronald Cote, a cherished member of FOP Lodge #171. Ron's journey began with his studies as a Catholic brother with the Brothers of Christian Instruction from 1955 to 1970. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Walsh College in North Canton, Ohio, in 1964, followed by a Master of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Detroit in Michigan in 1971. Ron dedicated his early career to teaching mathematics from 1964 to 1979 before transitioning to a role as a U.S. Customs Agent, where he served in both Montreal, Quebec, and Willis, Texas. In 2016, he and his wife, Dorothy, retired to the serene surroundings of Flagler Beach, Florida.
Throughout his life, Ron was actively involved in various organizations, including the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, the Corvette Club of Flagler County, the Knights of Columbus Council 10514, and, of course, our own Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 171. He was a vibrant presence at the Lodge, volunteering his time every Wednesday to help with our Bingo games. His contributions and warm spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace, and may God grant him eternal rest.
Obituary can be seen here.
