🌌✨ June’s Night Sky is Putting on a Show! ✨🌌

Grab a lawn chair, look up, and enjoy some incredible celestial events this month:

⭐ June 8–9: Venus and Jupiter appear incredibly close together in the western sky after sunset.

☿ Mid-June: Mercury joins Venus and Jupiter for a rare and beautiful planetary lineup.

🌞 June 21: The Summer Solstice marks the official start of summer and the longest day of the year.

πŸŒ‘ June 15: A Super New Moon brings some of the darkest skies of the yearβ€”perfect for stargazing and spotting the Milky Way.

πŸͺ All Month: Early risers can catch Saturn and Mars shining in the eastern sky before sunrise.

Whether you're an avid astronomer or just love a good sunset, June offers plenty of reasons to step outside and look up.

πŸ“Έ Have you ever spotted a planetary conjunction or seen the Milky Way with your own eyes? Share your photos and experiences in the comments!

Sunset Crater, northern Arizona. Sunset Crater is the youngest of the cinder cones of the active San Francisco volcanic field of northern Arizona. Sunset erupted about 950 years ago and displaced nearby Native American people. The reddish color at the summit is the result of oxidation of tephra - ash, cinders and bombs - erupted from the vent. In the foreground is an older cinder cone mantled with black ash from Sunset Crater. Sunset Crater rises about 850 feet above the surrounding plain and is now part of Sunset Crater National Monument - a tourist favorite. Of the more than 600 volcanoes in the field, Sunset is the only one off limits to hikers.
