🍂 Winter is Coming! Here’s How to Store Your Camping Gear Like a Pro 🏕️

As camping season winds down, giving your gear a little TLC now will ensure it’s ready to go when spring returns! Here’s our step-by-step guide to winterizing your camping equipment:

🧼 CLEAN EVERYTHING
• Tents: Set up, sweep out, and spot clean with mild soap
• Sleeping bags: Launder according to labels (never store dirty!)
• Stoves: Clear fuel lines and wipe down surfaces
• Coolers: Deep clean and deodorize with baking soda

💨 DRY THOROUGHLY
Even "weatherproof" gear can grow mold if stored damp. Hang tents, tarps and bags in a well-ventilated area until completely dry - this is the MOST important step!

📦 STORE SMART
• Loosely in breathable containers (canvas bags > plastic bins)
• In climate-controlled spaces (avoid attics/garages with temp swings)
• Keep sleeping bags unstuffed and hung or laid flat
• Store tents loosely rolled or hanging

🔍 BONUS TIP: Do a quick inventory now while everything's fresh in your mind - note what needs replacing before next season!

Not ready to invest in gear you'll store 9 months out of the year? We've got you covered year-round with clean, well-maintained rentals! ❄️➡️🌞

Ever wonder what fuels our beautiful corner of the Pacific Northwest? 🌲 While our natural beauty is wild and untamed, our local economy thrives thanks to one vital force: YOU, the visitor.

Tourism is more than just folks taking photos at the Welcome Sign; it's the heartbeat of Forks, Washington. Here’s why it’s so important:

✨ It Supports Local Families: The restaurants you love, the guides who show you the trails, the shops where you find that perfect souvenir—tourism creates jobs and supports small business owners right here in our community.

✨ It Protects Our Paradise: Visitor spending helps fund the maintenance of our incredible natural spaces—from the mystical Hoh Rain Forest to the rugged beaches of the Olympic Coast. When you purchase a park pass or book a tour, you're directly contributing to the preservation of these places.

✨ It Keeps Our Town Vibrant: Your adventures help sustain our local services, events, and the unique character of Forks. It allows us to share our stories, from our rich logging history to our... ahem... notorious supernatural residents. 😉

So, whether you're here for the vampires, the drag racing, hunting sasquatch or the serene silence of the ancient forests, thank you. Thank you for choosing Forks, for exploring responsibly, and for helping us keep the magic of the Olympic Peninsula alive.
