Would you pay $1.50 to or $6 for your semi truck or bus to cross this bridge? This is the Oldtown Toll bridge across the Potomac River between Oldtown, MD and Green Spring, WV.

The bridge was built in 1937 as a low water bridge which is only high enough for times of normal water levels. If there is flooding, the water flows over the top and the bridge is not accessible until the water recedes. There is no other crossing of the Potomac for 15 miles each way and the bridge is privately owned. Photo by Teresea McMinn/ Cumberland Times-News.
