75 Hard complete!!!
At the youthful age of 44, I wanted to do something extreme that would not just transform my body, but completely charge my mindset. This program did that in spades. It teaches mental toughness and developing uncompromising habits that allow you take back time you do truly have each day. Time which in the past was wasted or not used effectively.
For anyone on the fence about starting this, I did this program under less than perfect circumstances:
1. Owning and managing a gym, I routinely pull 70+ hour weeks. I worked in 75 Hard around this schedule. If you have a 9-5, this will be a cakewalk!
2. I sustained a serious hamstring injury on Week 1. I worked around it, stretched like crazy and it is now much better.
3. I failed on Day 16 because I fell asleep on my couch without reading the 10 pages and woke up at 4am - automatic fail and had to restart!
4. Travelled to Sydney, Australia for the last 30 days of the challenge in order to spend it with my Dad who passed on March 23rd.
5. Had my Dad’s funeral, but still kept 75 Hard going. He would have wanted me to finish what I started!
6. I didn’t have a gym for the month I was in Australia. Spending as much quality time with my family was the focus, so I pivoted to bodyweight and cardio workouts at my parents house.
Life and the plans we have will never be perfect. It’s how we adapt and persevere regardless of the circumstances that matters most. The program has now become my new normal and I fully intend on continuing most, if not all of the program for the rest of the year.
As my Dad always used to say, ‘If it is to be, it is up to me!’ I dedicate this awesome program to you Dad. Thank you for always being an amazing example to me and for being the man who first inspired me to work hard, train hard and finish everything I start!
