My friends with deep sadness I want to inform all of you that on Mar 23, 2011 I no longer own my beloved Ask Me Inn. Due to lies and deceit by my banker, Landmark Bank, the property was taken away from me and sold to a hedge fund group, who also bought up 20 other small motels from the bank in the same neighborhood. I had NEVER been late on a single payment and had an 805 Beacon Score. I made the mistake of calling the bank and ask that they put 3-4 mos of my payments to the tail end of my note so that I could pay my 22,000 property tax bill that was behind due to a car wreck and me having to pay my own medical expenses out of pocket. I was informed by the bank that I had to be delinquent before they could do anything to help me, but little did I know that they had this buyer in their back pocket already lined up to take my property. The bank lied! So I stopped making my payments, even though I had the money top make them, but rather than help me they foreclosed at a 25% interest. Just got a 1099 for almost 45,000 from the bank for their claimed loss, that I am liable for the tax on which will likely result in me having to file bankruptcy. For the last year it has devastated my life at 62 years old to lose my business and home in such a devious way. I ask that none of my previous guests support Ask Me Inn now or in the future based on the lies to steal it from me. I truly miss all my guests who for 11 years were there for me and I want to say, thank you! It has taken me a year to just get over the depression and start to stand up and fight against the injustice done to me and my business. But, I have decided I will not give up. He is the story of my last day at the hotel, sleeping on the street all night to protect a family who was a guest in the hotel with a two year old child from being thrown out by the bank. I had ask the bank what they wanted me to do with guests and they said leave them alone we are keeping the property open. Well, once again, they lied and had the Sheriff close the property and throw the family out on the street. Thank God I stayed at the hotel, sleeping on the street all night, because the bank had the Sheriff serve me a 24 hr notice to vacate the property, so that I could refund the families money that they had paid in advance to the bank after they were tossed out also by them. Now they have the audacity to use my name that is registered to me without any permission. http://blogs.browardpalmbeach.com/pulp/2011/03/foreclosure_heartbreak_on_fort.php
