Freedom Fridays start today, and it's already a whole vibe. 🎆

Every Friday this summer comes with live music, themed events, kids activities, beach bonfires, fireworks over the Gulf, and plenty of reasons to stay outside a little longer.

Add in food specials, frozen drinks, fire dancers, and sweet treats around the resort, and suddenly Friday becomes the main event of the week.

⚠️ Beach PSA: Portuguese Man o’ War

In a group I follow, someone noted they saw a Portuguese man o’ war, so I wanted to share this with anyone headed to the beach who is unfamiliar. Please share with anyone you think this could help.

That bright blue “balloon” you see in the water or washed up on the sand is not harmless. It floats like a little sail and trails long, nearly invisible tentacles that can deliver very painful stings, even after it’s dead. If you see one, assume there are more nearby and keep your distance.

Stay safe:
• Don’t touch it, in the water or on the beach
• Watch your step. They often wash up in groups
• Keep kids and pets well clear

If stung:
• Rinse with seawater and carefully remove tentacles
• Use vinegar to help neutralize stinging cells
• Use hot water to reduce pain
• Get medical help right away for trouble breathing, chest pain, or symptoms spreading

They show up from time to time along the Gulf Coast and catch people off guard.
