🐬 A cleaner Fort Myers Beach starts with us! 🌊

On Saturday, October 31, volunteers will take to the beaches, boats and kayaks for Monofilament Madness, an annual marine cleanup organized by Keep Lee County Beautiful!

Since 1993, this community effort has helped remove discarded fishing line, plastics and other debris from our waterways and mangroves.

🐢 Why does it matter? Abandoned fishing line can entangle sea turtles, birds, fish and other marine wildlife.

📍 Cleanup locations include Tunaskin, Mound House and Salty Sam's Marina.

🐢 3,264 tiny sea turtles. One incredible Fort Myers Beach story! 🌊💚

As the 2026 nesting season winds down, something amazing is happening on our shoreline!

According to Turtle Time, Inc., Fort Myers Beach has recorded:

🐢 104 sea turtle nests
🥚 60 nests hatched
🌊 3,264 hatchlings

That's thousands of tiny sea turtles beginning their journey to the Gulf of Mexico!

A huge thank-you to Turtle Time's volunteers and everyone who helps protect these creatures.

Sea turtle nesting season officially runs through October 31, so there's still time to do our part. Keep beach-facing lights off, close curtains after dark, fill in holes, and leave the beach clear for our little ocean explorers.

At Seaside Resort Unit 110, we're lucky to enjoy a beachfront setting where nature surprises us every day.
