Greats news! Fort Myers Beach received the permit to start the new Pier!!! 😃🎉

Green light! Lee County finally has the permits approved to build the new Fort Myers Beach Pier! Construction is expected to start in August and is anticipated to take approximately one year to complete. September 28th, 2027, will be the 5th anniversary of Hurricane Ian, which destroyed the pier.

Exciting news! Big Carlos Pass Bridge is almost finished!!

Lee County announced that a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held June 30 on Fort Myers Beach to celebrate the completion of the new Big Carlos Pass Bridge and the Big Carlos Bridge Artificial Reef:

We hear the new pier construction will begin soon. We are hopeful!

The Lee Board of County Commissioners continued its commitment to rebuilding and expanding the Fort Myers Beach fishing pier, voting to award a construction contract for the project.

The project will extend the pier to approximately 1,000 feet in length and 12 feet in width, significantly increasing its size and capacity. Planned improvements include reinforced concrete piles, a concrete deck, aluminum railings, shade structures and controlled access points to enhance durability and public use. Construction is expected to commence upon obtaining final approval from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and is expected to take about a year.
