The fish are starting to look up! If you’re lucky, you might end up with a hungry brown on the line.

In this photo, Kerry is rocking one of our hats. They’ve been a hit and the selection is slim, but don’t fret! New swag is coming soon.

Nebraska born and raised, James is a Business Marketing student at University of Nebraska Lincoln with a passion for the outdoors. When he's not in class, you'll probably find him on the water chasing the next big catch. His love for fishing started on family trips to Lake Vermilion, Minnesota, and it's been part of who he is ever since. Growing up in a farming family taught him the value of hard work, adventure and making the most of every day outdoors. We’re grateful he’s a part of our team, even only for a brief period of time!

⭐️Meet Our Team⭐️
These days, Doug is most often found fishing the Bighorn, tying flies or spending time with his grandson and the rest of his family. After a successful career in the oil and gas industry, he now dedicates his time to the pursuits that matter most to him: conservation, the arts, and strengthening communities. Doug takes pride in ownership of Kingfisher Lodge.
He founded the Tongue River Artist Residency and is currently working to establish a new residency that provides investigative journalists with the time, space, and support to pursue stories of lasting public importance.

⭐️Meet Our Team⭐️
Why would someone buy a fly fishing lodge? For Emerson, it was a chance to get back to what he loves by taking on a new challenge and encouraging outdoor recreation.
Raised on the east slope of the Bighorn Mountains, Emerson has spent a lifetime skiing, hunting and fly fishing. After teaching skiing in college, he went on to operate a local ski lodge. Here he was able to combine his Civil Engineering background with his love for the mountain. After retirement, it became clear that his passion for managing recreation based businesses hadn't gone away. Having fished the Bighorn for nearly 40 years and knowing Kingfisher Lodge, the opportunity to purchase it with his business partner, Doug, felt like the perfect fit. Alongside Doug and Shalon, he's proud to help create unforgettable experiences for every guest who visits Kingfisher Lodge.

⭐️Meet Our Team⭐️
Meet our Assistant Manager, Miranda! Born and raised in Pennsylvania's Pine Creek Valley, she grew up hiking, biking, and kayaking. Then she discovered her true passion, fishing. That passion led her to the shores of Lake Ontario, where she worked in tackle shops before spending her first season on the Bighorn in 2018. It didn't take long for her to fall in love with the river and the surrounding areas. Before joining Kingfisher Lodge, Miranda built a career in the travel industry, creating personalized experiences with a strong focus on detail and exceptional guest service. When she's not at the lodge, you'll find her enjoying time on the water, in the kitchen or tending to her gardens.

⭐️Meet Our Team⭐️
Kingfisher Lodge’s manager and outfitter is Shalon. A fourth‑generation Montanan, she traded restaurant life for river life in 2019 and never looked back. She’s guided on the Missouri and now calls the Bighorn her home water. As a licensed Montana guide, outfitter, and USCG captain, Shalon’s mission is simple: make fly fishing fun, welcoming, and even life changing. She wears many hats at the lodge; you’ll find her greeting and wrangling guests, tending to gardens, trying to keep up with her awesome crew and even rowing a boat sometimes. She’s still seeking that 24” brown.

⭐️Meet Our Team⭐️
Raised on Oregon's Siletz River, Hilary grew up fishing, hunting, and exploring the Pacific Northwest. Family adventures through Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming inspired a lifelong love of travel, and she completed her goal of visiting all 50 states by her 25th birthday.
Hilary has managed lodges from Denali, Alaska, to the Everglades, Florida, creating memorable guest experiences. Her passion for food and the beauty of the Bighorn Mountains brought her to Kingfisher this season.
When she's not in the kitchen, Hilary and her dog Coda are usually hiking, camping, swimming, or fishing. She aims to catch at least six fish every trip!
