Throwback Thursday goes back to 1738 when Pope Clement XII issued the Papal Bull "In Eminenti" which effectively excommunicating Catholics who joined the fraternity. This marked the beginning of a centuries-long tension between the Catholic Church and Masonic organizations, a dynamic that profoundly influenced the development of lodges in historically Catholic regions like France, Italy, and South America.

Freemasons welcome all to join so long as they believe in a Supreme Being.

Symbolism Sunday:
Maybe the most recognizable symbol in masonry (and your wallet), the All-Seeing Eye. It represents the watchful eye of the Supreme Architect of the Universe, reminding the Mason that their thoughts and actions are observed by a Higher Power, even when they are alone.

Inside the Lodge Tuesday features the Egyptian Hall at the The Masonic Temple in Philadelphia.
The hall was the first room in the Masonic Temple to be decorated and was officially dedicated in 1889. The elaborate interior work for the temple's various rooms, including the Egyptian Hall, was designed by George Herzog and completed over a long period, with the rooms as a whole being finished by 1908.
Time for a road trip, Brothers!

Symbolism Sunday!
Today is the Pot of Incense. What does it symbolize?
The Pot of Incense is an emblem of a pure and upright heart. It symbolizes the idea that a Mason's prayer and devotion should rise to the heavens as a sweet-smelling savor, representing the purity of soul that is required when approaching the altar or engaging in virtuous action.
