This time of year is when the bull redfish run the beach!!!!!

This is the target species at night!!!!!!!

The plan:

Catch some live bait on a sabiki, such as cigar minnows, alewives, Tony’s…. Oops we mean pinfish

And or use some fresh cut lady fish chunks!

Free line or use a Carolina rig set up in the trough between the first and second sandbar.

The biggest problem this time of year, is the June grass!!!

But late night and in the wee hours of the morning these big bull reds have been congregating around the pier eating baits.

Use a drop net and get the fish in quick, get your photo and get a quick release by lowering them back down to the water and letting them swim out of the net!

Majority of the red’s are going to be too big to harvest. Finding a slot is possible, but fairly uncommon this time of year! But blackened redfish tacos are 🔥

The harvestable size in this section of Florida is 18”-27” (pinched tail)

Join us at the National Naval Aviation Museum to watch the U.S. Navy Blue Angels practice over NAS Pensacola on the dates listed below for June. The Blues typically take off around 10:30 a.m., so plan to arrive early to allow plenty of time for admission and parking.
