🌞 Late August on Crystal Lake is the best-kept secret of the season - warmest water of the year, quiet mornings, and that low golden light off the water come evening. A few apartments are still open for the end of the month, Lakeview’s included. Scenic porches with the water just a few steps away from your front door.

We just freed up Silverwood and Treetops for three night minimum stays, August 15-21. That’s peak swim-season water, long golden evenings, and two of our favorite units on the property.

Ninety-one summers on Crystal Lake.

Olen and Leola opened Chimney Corners in 1935, back when guests arrived by train in Frankfort and stayed the whole month of July. The lake hasn’t change much - the water’s still that impossible shade of blue-green, and kids still spend all day on the dock until someone rings the dinner bell.

What has changed: we’re now welcoming the great-grandchildren of some of our very first guests. If your family has a Chimney Corners story, we’d love to hear it in the comments. ☀️
