08/30/2026
Iโve been trying to figure out how to put yesterday into words, and Iโm honestly not sure I can.
Tubapalooza 2026 was a success, and I am just so incredibly proud.
We had an amazing turnout, received so many compliments throughout the day, and after all of the planning, postponing, changing plans and preparing, I finally got to stand back and watch people floating the creek, eating, laughing, dancing and enjoying this campground. That was a pretty amazing feeling.
The Dalton Dailey Band was absolutely amazing. They put on such a great show and were the perfect ending to an already great day. I hope everyone enjoyed them as much as we did!
There are so many people I need to thank because there is absolutely no way an event like this happens because of one person.
First, my team and all of our volunteers. I am SO proud of you guys. You worked your butts off. It was hot, it was busy, and there were a lot of moving parts, but everyone stepped up and did what needed to be done. I hope you all know how much I appreciate you.
Thank you to our owners for supporting me and supporting this event. It means a lot to be trusted to try new things and bring ideas like this to life at Still Waters.
Thank you to all of our food trucks and vendors who came out and served everyone yesterday. We appreciate you being part of our day.
And I definitely have to give a special thank you to Sonnyโs BBQ. They brought their Feast & Float event to Still Waters and seriously went above and beyond. The food was delicious, their setup looked amazing, and I have heard so many compliments. They had giveaways, prizes, free drinks and food and just added so much to the day. We are very grateful that they chose to partner with us and so proud to have had them as part of Tubapalooza.
Thank you to the Franklin County Sheriffโs Department for being on the grounds with us last night while the band was here and helping us make sure everyone could enjoy themselves safely.
To our weekend campers, full-timers and seasonal guests, thank you. I know yesterday was MUCH busier than what you are normally used to around here. Thank you for being patient with us, supporting the event and sharing your campground with a whole lot of extra people for the day. I have received so much support and encouragement from so many of you throughout this entire process, and it means more to me than you probably realize.
Thank you to my family for coming out and supporting us too. It meant a lot to me to look around throughout the day and see people I love there supporting something I have worked so hard on.
And lastly, Iโm going to thank myself.
That feels a little weird to write, but I think I deserve to this time.
Tubapalooza has been something I have been planning since I took this job. There have been hours and hours that nobody saw. Phone calls, messages, coordinating, ordering things, making payments, finding vendors, booking entertainment, finding volunteers, planning for safety, changing plans, postponing, watching the weather, starting over and worrying about a million little things that come along with trying to put on an event this size.
There were definitely times I wondered if we were ever actually going to pull this thing off. LOL.
But yesterday I got to look around and see all of that work actually happening in front of me.
People came. People had fun. People supported us. And most importantly, we were able to give people a fun day while keeping everyone safe.
Iโm proud of my team. Iโm proud of this campground. Iโm proud of the community that rallied around us. And Iโm proud of myself for sticking with an idea I had months ago and seeing it all the way through.
So to everyone who worked, volunteered, shared our posts, bought a wristband, brought your family, floated the creek, ate some good food, danced, supported our vendors, gave us a compliment or simply showed up โ thank you.
Thank you for supporting Still Waters, but also thank you for supporting me. Iโll forever be thankful for each of you.
With all of that being said, I think itโs safe to say Tubapalooza will be back next yearโฆ
Hopefully with a few less postponements involved. LOL.
Love you much,
