Before highways and hurry,
downtown Franklin was where life happened.

People walked.

Before this building welcomed travelers, it welcomed neighbors.

Long before Airbnb, Doc Johnson stood behind this counter — mixing tonics, pouring remedies, and serving Franklin as its local apothecary. This wasn’t just a store. It was where you came when you didn’t feel right… or just needed a moment of care.

The old photo shows the building as it once was.

And today — it lives on as Country Rhodes Guest Suites.

We actually live in Doc Johnson’s old home next door. Every day, we’re reminded that this place has always been about hospitality — just in a different form.
