We continue our service to our fellow countrymen by providing respite care to veterans
, soldiers, first responders, their family & friends, and to also serve as an outreach to those that want to learn more about these heroes. As we have both been through our fair share of heartbreaking experiences, we understand the gaps left behind with mental health care. Our passion & mission is to provide respite care for our veterans, service members, first responders, and for their families & friends. We also serve as an outreach to those that did not serve but want to connect and learn more, or to educate their children. We do this by offering affordable vacation rental homes themed for veterans and first responders. The cabin is available to anyone who wishes to rent it for any period of time. We have helped many families, and we are very proud to be able to serve our local Texas communities and our beloved America. But our primary mission is to end the #1 disgrace of our country: veteran homelessness. This preventable condition is shameful and unacceptable. Lastly, we are always looking to expand and build more units. Next on the dartboard is a multi-unit site with four cabins that would be ideal for events, family reunions, and other get-togethers. Our ultimate goal is to build The Outpost across Texas, then across the Nation, with each cabin representing the unique architecture and treasured Heroes of each State. Stay tuned!

The cabin sleeps 8 -- can sleep 12 if you pay the $150 flat fee a night RV rental fee – we have power, water & sewage RV hookups! Overview: If you're looking for a Texas hill country getaway that offers true peace and quiet, a place where you can clear your head, rest, and relax, then look no further than The Outpost. This lux vacation home is great for individuals, couples, families, and small bachelor/bachelorette groups. Our unique limestone and log cabin was constructed from various military, historical, and first-responder buildings from all across Texas, including The Alamo, Houston Firehouse #7, and the San Jacinto Monument! This one-of-a-kind property is only 14 miles away from the heart of downtown and only 8 miles from Enchanted Rock State Park. Nestled 2,100 feet high on a private hilltop, these 15 secluded acres are here for you, your family, and your fur babies to explore. Sleeps a total of 12; sleeps 8 inside the cabin and sleeps another 4 if you rent the RV space for $210 per week. There are no other cabins and no other renters in the area. The owners do not live on-site, and you do not have any close neighbors. The surrounding land is undeveloped and open on all sides making it feel like you have hundreds of miles to explore. Honoring America’s Hero’s: This rustic getaway is decorated with numerous military and first-responder artifacts, yet also provides all the comforts and luxuries of home. The owners of The Outpost are a proud military veteran and a dedicated registered nurse, and our stewardship towards our heroes means preserving their history. We have painstakingly restored many artifacts and identified their significance. In the cabin you will find inert military items, fire helmets, nursing equipment, law enforcement gear, uniforms, a Missing Man chair (you cannot sit on this chair), artifacts from many ships including the USS Constitution and the USS Independence, cannonballs, displays, and much, much more. Please feel free to handle and explore these items to connect with history (they are all inert). Even more fun elements of this cabin include a patch wall (bring your insignia or patches), a coin challenge, and an on-site fund-raiser with souvenirs for sale including engraved bricks. Cabin Interior Description: Almost 2,330 covered square feet (includes the cabin, porches, and the barn), sleeps 8 with 1 fully furnished California king bedroom, 1 queen bedroom, 1 pullout full bed, and 2 rollaway cots. We have 2 full baths, and the guest restroom has a bathtub. All restrooms and baths are equipped with ADA grab bars. Each room has extra pillows & blankets, luggage racks, floor fans for white noise, space heaters (be careful with these)!, ceiling fans, smoke detectors, satellite TV, and are WIFI enabled along with a WIFI booster. The cabin also has a fully monitored alarm system that you can arm if you so desire. There are rustic cabin drop bars for each door for extra security. Our full kitchen has it all including a large granite island, a dishwasher, a giant farmhouse sink with a garbage disposer, a five-burner gas stove/ oven, a microwave, air fryer, wine fridge, and a bread toaster. We provide all of the dishes, pots, pans, cooking utensils, cups, and all appliances. The large double-door refrigerator/ freezer has an icemaker and a filtered water disposer inside the refrigerator on the left. Our filtered water is called ‘sweet-water’ due to the mineral content from our well and it is the best water you will ever taste. The entire cabin is on a water-softener as well. The living area has a wood-burning fireplace for winter-time snuggling. A full washer & dryer, ironing board, iron, clothing steamer, and hangers are all provided for cleaning your clothes. The restrooms are fully stocked with bathing towels, make-up towels, hairdryers, and toiletries. There is an HP computer docking station in the secret room with a Canon printer. Please try to limit your printing needs to just passes, QR/ bar codes, and directions. Traditions at The Outpost:
1. Patch Wall – leave one of your patches on our board.
2. Pins – punch your devices, badges, rank, crests, lapels, insignia, or pins into the cabin logs by the fireplace.
3. Challenge Coin – leave a coin and take one of The Outpost coins.
4. Guidon – post The Outpost's guidon outside the cabin during daylight hours.
5. Shoefiti – leave your boots and we will string them up for all to see.
6. Delta Dawgs - send us a picture of your canine family members and we will post it in the album.
7. Shirt or Uniform – leave one hanging in the master closet.
8. Garden - leave a license plate in our license plate garden. Cabin Exterior Description: The Outpost is equipped with a Generac full cabin standby generator, a 2,500-gallon water storage tank so you will never run out of water even during a drought, and a 1,000-pound propane storage tank that can last an entire year. We have very large front and back porches with plenty of space. Each porch has 2 large rocking chairs, a barrel table to rest your items, outdoor sockets, 96 feet of string lights for each porch, spotlights, and porch lights. The back porch has a large dining table and a large lounging couch. There are outdoor blankets in the footlocker on the porch for chilly nights. The 6-person hot tub and the 15’ fire pit are to the left of the back porch. The fire pit has a wood rack, ash bucket, long fire pit forks, 8 polywood Adirondack chairs, plus plenty of spare chairs, plus plenty of log stumps to sit around the fire pit and make s’mores, roast hot dogs, or have plenty of cock tails. The hot tub comes with built-in cup holders, a small lighted waterfall, and steps for easy access. The area’s roadways and trails are ideal for walking, biking, hiking, ideal for UTV/ ATVs, both on and off the property (Keese Rd. is perfect for a long UTV tour). Because of the open land, there is a great biodiversity throughout the area. We also have a fully lighted picnic area with an in-ground grill. 1. RV kit is inside the guest closet.
2. Allowed RVs: Class C, Class B, Truck Campers, Pop-Ups and Teardrops Campers. No other hitched or pulled RVs allowed; no large RVs allowed; and no Class A RVs allowed as there is not enough room in the parking area to maneuver these types. Cost is a flat fee of $150 for the duration of your reservation of The Outpost cabin. Please purchase the “RV Upsell” when checking out. Use of this RV site without purchasing the upsell will result in an automatic $300.00 penalty fee, automatically charged to your card on file.

1. RV / EV Area is located on the right (north) side of the cabin and is marked by a brown sign.
2. No dumping trash, water, soaps, fluids, or food outside the RV. Please use the trash can and sink inside the cabin. Do not dispose of any chemicals.
3. Only propane stoves may be used. No charcoal or portable fire pits on the parking lot due to the mess. Use the on-site grills for cooking and use the on-site fire pit for chilling out.
4. You must clean up any motor oil drips.
5. Place all adapters back into the RV Equipment Bag.
6. Use the green sewer cap cleanout for black or gray water.
7. Pour 1 cup bleach in, on, and around sewer cap & cleanout when finished. Please bring your own bleach.
8. Clean up all sewage spills / drips on the ground & use some bleach. You will be charged $50 for any sewage cleanups.
9. Please stow the EV charger back in the bag. Place bag in the Guest closet when finished. Do not leave outside. The Barn: A 330 square foot covered barn is available for your use. Comes with a nice elevated concrete slab, fenced in, with a large outdoor TV, nighttime overhead lighting, large propane grill, a portable grill table, a large foldable table, plenty of extra chairs, beer ice-tin, grilling spices, and grilling utensils. We also provide a large portable propane porch heater for the winter months. Fun Stuff Provided: Don’t feel like cooking? No problem - we sponsor Chel Leo Aguirre and he will make the trip to cook you an amazing meal. Read a variety of books for all ages about Texas in our large library. We also provide a Celestron telescope, regulation cornhole set, frisbee, high-powered binoculars, lanterns, scorpion UV flashlight (scorpions glow blue under the UV light), and an outdoor 4-speaker system with Bluetooth capabilities for listening to your tunes. If you bring your UTV/ ATV, then we have a map for a grand tour of the area including many awesome stops along the way (always wear your seatbelts)! For the Children: We have four kids, so we know that’s a lot to pack for a trip. That’s why we provide the following to make your vacation a little easier: An inflatable pool in the barrel on the back porch, a fan sprinkler to jump through, a bathtub, sketch pad, colored pencils, eraser & sharpener, high-chair, portable pack-n-play playard, baby bath, board games, and a Nintendo Wii with plenty of games. There are plentiful arrow heads and spear heads in the area from the Comanche Indians who used to hunt these lands. There are plenty of geological specimens if you’re a rockhound: Texas agate, flint, limestone, shell fossils, quartz, granite, and gypsum are very common. Also, The Outpost has hidden rooms, trap doors, secret treasures, clever riddles, and many puzzles -- who knows what the kids may discover? For The Dawgs: We are not just dog friendly; we are doggone awesome! In consultation with Dogologie off Main Street in downtown Fredericksburg, we are pleased to offer the following goodies for your furry family members:
1. Two (2) dogs any size and breed are welcome -- additional dogs will require approval.
2. An entire guest room dedicated to military & first responder dogs.
