Das Garten Haus Das Garten Haus is an owner operated bed and breakfast in town, just 1/2 mile from Main St. We have three suites and can accommodate up to 8 adults.

All the suites have complimentary snacks, TV's, wireless internet, and small kitchen bars. All look out on to a New Orleans style courtyard.

Das Garten Haus opened for business starting Memorial Day weekend, on May 22. Both our B&B and our Guesthouse have been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized and we will continue to take extra cleaning precautions. As our accommodations are private and do not share space, social distancing is manageable. Although we have room for 8 guests at our table, we will continue to serve a maximum of 4 guests in the dining room. If we have more than four guests we will serve some in their rooms, and this will be discussed with our guests to their level of comfort. Restaurants and shops are open and State Parks are open - Enchanted Rock requires advance reservations. Cross Mountain and Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park Nature Trail are great outdoor activities. Most wineries are open and tour buses are starting again. Do plan ahead when visiting! Make dinner reservations, Enchanted Rock reservations, and wine tour reservations well in advance. Peaches are in season! Leave those 4 walls, and take a car trip to the Hill Country! We are up and running!

New Covid update - May 12, 2020

Das Garten Haus is open for business starting Memorial Day weekend, on May 22. Both our B&B and our Guesthouse have been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized and we will continue to take extra cleaning precautions. As our accommodations are private and do not share space, social distancing should be manageable. Here at the B&B will will give guests the option of having their breakfast brought to their room at 8:30, or dining in the main dining room with other guests. We will only serve to a maximum of 4 in the dining room, in order to safely distance. This will all be discussed with guests upon their arrival. Fredericksburg is able to open restaurants at 50%, as we have had few cases. Some have chosen to wait a while longer, but there is plenty of dining and take-out available! State Parks are open - Enchanted Rock requires advance reservations. Cross Mountain and Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Park Nature Trail are great outdoor activities. Wineries have not opened for tasting yet, but as soon as they do I will update. Many shops are open! Come enjoy some fresh air and a change of scenery!

Covid – 19 Update:
As Governor Abbot starts to reopen the state, I wanted to update our guests on what’s going on here, in Fredericksburg. There has been one confirmed case of Covid-19 in our county, several weeks ago, and they have since, gratefully, recovered. The state parks are now open, including LBJ State Park and Enchanted Rock, with limited numbers of guests, and social distancing. You must have advance reservations for Enchanted Rock. Today, (April 25) I am seeing a few shops opening up with limited admittance. Many restaurants are doing take-out and curbside, and I see a few more folks on Main St. As soon as the Pacific War Museum, and the Wineries open up, I will update this post. We are now taking reservations for guests starting Memorial Day Weekend, and beyond – both here in the B&B, and in our Guesthouse. As all of our accommodations here in the B&B are private, and the only possible intermingling is outside or at breakfast, we’ve decided to bring your breakfast over to you at the usual time of 8:30. We hope this will reassure out guests that they can maintain their distance, but still have a great breakfast served to them! We will go back to breakfast in the dining room when we deem it appropriate. Guests in the Guesthouse next door have separate quarters and should not be impacted. The gardens are looking good, the weather is fine, and peaches are about a month out! Stay well friends! Lynn
