How “Lovebirds Getaway” came to be

In 2018 Rodney & Melissa Hatfield purchased a beautiful Bed & Breakfast in Fredericksburg, Texas. Affectionately named “Lovebirds Getaway” after the nickname Melissa gave Rodney many years ago. The house was purchased in the midst of a trying year for the Hatfield family. Rodney was battling cancer for a year when he and Melissa purchased the home. Looking back we believe Rodney purchased the home for Melissa to have extra income and keep her busy in case he was not around. Rodney passed away on Monday, July 2nd and the home was officially their’s that same day.

This B&B is located 5 blocks from Main Street guests will find this home to be quaint and convenient. There are so many wonderful amenities about this special home it will be difficult to include everything.

Entering into the living room the beauty begins. A grey sofa and intricately woven armchair are placed to enjoy the large screen cable television. Your hosts has a tasteful collection of treasures on the shelves of one wall. This room opens into the kitchen/breakfast room. A fully equipped kitchen is a special treat with it’s modern gas range and oven. The refrigerator is full size. Along with this great kitchen and the outdoor grilling area fixing a meal is truly a delight! A small breakfast table for four sits in front of the window of the kitchen. Take a step down into the dining room and enjoy the natural wood top table along with its shabby chic legs seating up to six people.

Three bedrooms in the house are beautifully decked to compliment the bedroom. One bedroom has a king bed, the second has a queen and the third has two twins. Two bathrooms are each accessible to all three bedrooms. One bath has a whirlpool tub with shower and the second has a large glass enclosed shower. Both bathrooms are treats all in themselves.
