Our new Gazebo at Grandmother's Porch is ready for a small, intimate wedding, family reunion/BBQ or just a great place to hang out and enjoy the Texas Hill Country. Grandmother's Porch sleeps 13 and Enchanted Porch, just a short walk away, sleeps 14. Both houses on the ranch are an easy drive into Fredericksburg or to Enchanted Rock. We had a 6 month old calf die in a small pasture near one of our guest houses. Vet got test results back and says it died from salt toxicity and suspects it was drinking water from the water softner brine recharge runoff. Now have a pit dug and fenced off. Just passing it on in case anyone else has a water softner discharging where calves can get to it.

Would have lost this calf if we had not found it when we did. We are removing one of the bottom rings. If anyone has a poly ring like this, beware. Even though the leg looks broken, it was not.

Hubbells First Lady just dropped this heifer calf out of The Beast this morning. Both will be in the Red McComb’s Fiesta sale this spring. This heifer is going to be special.

Brand New Drag Net son. He has 5-80+", 1-90+", and 1-96" Total Horn in his pedigree so we'll see if he grows into his horn legacy...he'll make a pretty steer for someone worst case.

I'm doing a little research on 83"+ Crisp Respect. I have found 4 cows and 3 bulls that either measure over 80" or project to be 80"+. About 11 cows that are (or project to be) mid 70's. Problem is that there are many of his prodigy that look big horned, but there is no measurement recorded. Here is what I have so far:
Bulls: Redman's Respect 84.625", Victorious 72.5" (proj 81.2"), and MK Colossal PAT 70" (proj 81.9"). 5D Six Gun Respect and CWR Crimson Tide look big horned, but no info posted.
Cows: White Lightning 240 is 81.5", HL Crisps Joyful Empress 72.25 (proj 80.5"), MK Unstopable Respect 67 (proj 84.4), HL Crisp Starlet 58.25 (proj 81), and the following are either mid 70's or projected to be:
Higher Respect, Hot Respect, JBM Miss Precious,5D Crisp's Redman, BBR Mulberry Crisp, CDC Respecting Rio, Respectable Deigo, Respectable Diamond, Respectable Lady, Respectable Maiden, and HH Bobbi's Respect. Ravin Respect and Smoka Mocha Latte look good but not measurement posted.
If anyone has any mid-70" or better Crisp Respect podigy, let me know.
