That's all, folks! Until next year. ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ’œ Save the date for the 22nd Annual Blanco Lavender Festival next summer, June 4-6, 2027!

The LBJ State Park swimming pool will open this Wednesday, June 10th. I know everyone has been eagerly awaiting an opening date and we appreciate everybody's patience as we have been working through a significant plumbing repair in the bathhouse.

Unfortunately, we were unsuccessful in hiring our full slate of seasonal lifeguards. We were able to fill four of the six positions. Because of this, there will be some periodic closures of the main pool and the kiddie pool will be closed for the duration of the season in order to be compliant with lifeguarding safety requirements. We will post schedules weekly on Mondays or Tuesdays so everybody knows what to expect as they plan their visits.

There will be a few new additions to services/amenities provided this year, though! Ice cream will be available for purchase to give you yet another way to cool off in the Texas heat! We will also be adding lounge chairs for some extra seating options. Those should be arriving sometime this month and will be out as soon as we receive them!

We hope to see you at the pool! Here is this week's operating schedule.

The Blanco Lavender Festival returns June 5โ€“7, 2026, in Blanco, Texas, celebrating the Hill Countryโ€™s famous lavender season with three days of live music, artisan vendors, food, wine, and family-friendly activities. Festival events take place around the historic Old Blanco County Courthouse and nearby Bindseil Park in downtown Blanco, with additional activities hosted at Hill Country Lavender Farm just outside town. The annual event draws thousands of visitors each year to experience lavender fields in bloom, specialty markets, and the relaxed charm of the Texas Hill Country.

The 2026 live music lineup includes Donovan Hatcher & Wild Hearted Sons, Texas Heavy, Rochelle & The Sidewinders, Jesse Stratton, Bobby Mack, Zydeco Blanco, and Hill Country Honeys performing throughout the weekend in Bindseil Park. Guests can also enjoy lavender-inspired foods and drinks, regional wines and beer, educational talks, and shopping from artists and craftspeople from across Texas. The Lavender Festival is one of the premier summer celebrations in the Hill Country, blending music, local culture, and Blancoโ€™s longstanding connection to lavender farming.

Peach season in Fredericksburg is here ๐Ÿ‘

Fresh peaches are one of Gillespie Countyโ€™s favorite summer traditions, but availability can vary by orchard, stand, and variety throughout the season.

Along with fresh-picked peaches, visitors can enjoy the flavors of the season through local jams, baked goods, ice cream, cobblers, salsas, and more.

Support local growers, take the scenic route, and contact farms and orchards directly for current availability and hours before your visit. You can find local orchards and stands listed at TexasPeaches.com.
