J.D.'s Bunkhouse on Valentine Hill

Valentine Hill B&B was just as wonderful as the pictures look. We stayed in J.D’s bunkhouse and it was the perfect location for my husband’s birthday. The cabin had high ceilings, a cozy bed, unique touches and the best bath tub. The cabin was stocked with snacks to allow us to choose our own b&b adventure. The property itself is a slice of heaven only 8 minutes from downtown Fredericksburg. You can see so many stars at night and it is so peaceful. There are tons of beautiful horses on the property and they really add to the ambience (as does the creek with the dancing catfish named after vacuums, lol) We had the pleasure of talking with Judith and Charlene while we were there and you can tell how much love and thought Judith has put into the property and guest experience. We will be sure to stay here the next time we are in town and can’t wait to try the other cabins. Run (or maybe gallop), don’t walk, to this charming getaway!!!

J.D.'s Bunkhouse on Valentine Hill

It is our 3rd or 4th time staying here. We love the little cottages, from the linens, bedding, towels, coffee cups which are so cute. Everything is high quality, clean and cozy. The grounds are beautiful especially this time with all the rain the wild flowers were blooming. The walk to creek is breath taking. Its a beautiful place that is so well taken care of with passion and hard work. We will be back.

I have not been paying attention to my Valentine Hill B@B, page. We have been so busy here watching the bluebonnets and watching the grass grow after last year’s severe drought. We’ve had some strong storms, but have stayed safe here on the hill. I have had such lovely guests recently that I want to share some feedback. So many of our guests become our friends and come back time after time, knowing that they can count on the same level of our cleanliness and attention to detail.

I think that this is the most perfect review I could ask for because it touches on two things that are very important to my philosophy on what makes a comfortable place to stay. I refused to add these “cleaning fees” that so many are adding to their pricing and I have always insisted on absolute cleanliness because I want things to be as I would want them if I walked in.
The difference here is this is my home. I live and work here, I love my little houses and I love sharing them. I am not an absentee owner

J.D.'s Bunkhouse on Valentine Hill

My husband and I absolutely loved our long weekend at Valentine Hill. We stayed in JD's bunkhouse. What a beautiful cabin! Ms. Judy was very sweet and gave us a tour of the other two cabins on this property. So much history in this property and well as the cabins. Just amazing, we loved it! It was so peaceful and quiet, all we heard was nature. Thank you for eggs Ms. Judy! We will be back!

We Treat our guests just like welcoming old friends.!
AMELIAS CABIN
My husband and I spent 2 nights in this authentic little cabin and can't wait to return. We needed an escape from the city (Houston) and our stay at Amelia's Cabin was perfect!!! The property was spotless and was stocked with lots of delicious snacks, breakfast foods, juice, and milk. The bed was very comfortable and all the linens were top-notch!! We loved being in the country among the gorgeous trees, chirping birds, roaming horses, deer, and chickens. Sipping coffee on the covered porch in the morning was heaven. The drive into Fredericksburg was short -- maybe 5 minutes. My original plan was to spend most of the day on Main Street shopping, but we ended up spending quite a bit of time at the cabin just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful surroundings of Valentine Hill. I highly recommend this little slice of heaven to anyone who is heading to Fredericksburg or the Hill Country!
