Saving Hotel Fresno

Saving Hotel Fresno Saving Hotel Fresno one artifact at a time. Once renovation is completed on the building, the artifac It was truly a luxurious hotel for socialites.

"Hotel Fresno" opened it's doors in 1912 as Fresno's finest hotel. The "Hotel Fresno" was nationally famous and part of the circuit traveled by vaudeville performers such as: Al Jolson, Eddie Cantor, Bill Bojangles, Fanny Brice, and Buster Keaton (who performed on the Orpheum Vaudeville Circuit). While traveling for soliciting his vote for presidency, Richard Nixon made a largely covered stop at "

Hotel Fresno", even giving a speech in the lobby next to the grand fireplace. In the 1970's it was converted into senior citizen housing and then finally closed it's doors in 1983. Today the building sits empty, boarded up, and sadly vandalized. It has been looked at for years as a potential building to renovate in Downtown Fresno. This page is in support of bringing a building with such important history and significance back to life! Lets save Fresno's history. Let's save "Hotel Fresno"!

The project deadline is being pushed to January. Having walked the property myself, they are doing beautiful work that is worth the wait! The Hotel Fresno originally opened its doors January of 1913 so this will be a great way to celebrate that anniversary!

Hotel Fresno's transformation into modernized housing units is the first-of-its-kind project for the city!
