We are just 120 steps east of the AT off Route 522 near Front Royal, VA and have hiker-friendly rates. Scott "Possible" Jenkins hiked the AT as a SoBo in 2012, and Lisa supported his adventure, so we understand what thru hikers need. Look for us in the AWOL and AT Guides. It's always best to call ahead at 540-692-6198 or e-mail us at [email protected], but drop-ins are welcome Wednesday nig

hts through Sunday nights. The Main House portion of the B&B is also open! We have 3 really nice, spacious private rooms, a large dining room and a lovely parlor on the 1st floor, and 2 informal rooms in the basement. Please contact us if you'd like to reserve a room. We'd be pleased to host you as our guests. We look forward to offering the parlors and dining room for personal events or small community activities (e.g., book clubs, scout groups, recitals, etc.). We are working with the Virginia Department of Historic Resources and the National Park Service to ensure we are making repairs and improvements in line with their standards. Stay tuned for more information as we go through the process of bringing Mountain Home back to life.

If you're traveling to Tennessee in mid-September, be sure to check out this event in Knoxville on Saturday, September 19th!

David Pickens and I are hosting a Scottish music workshop and concert in Knoxville on September 19. The workshop is for anyone wanting to learn some tunes and songs, and the concert is open to the public. And it's all FREE!

We're so excited to be starting what we hope will be a regular gathering to share tunes, learn together, and grow the Scottish trad community in our area.

Now is the time to walk in Eastham Park!!!

We're having the kickoff of the new Story Path Book "Trash Ninja," and the Bluebells are at peak bloom (the video doesn't even do them justice).

Thank you to Diane Deutman and other dog walkers who, several weeks ago, stopped the mowers from mowing down the bluebells!!

Yesterday, we put up our first bluebird box. We're hopeful it is as successful as this one!
