BIG NEWS (but not the good kind):
LE RETREAT HOUSE IS CLOSING

Usually at this time of year, I am looking at reservations and transferring dates for the next year into a new calendar, making notes of open and tentative dates - you know, the fun stuff.

However, this year, I have been looking at the business end of things and it has been pretty hard. If you've retreated lately, you’ve probably heard me say that things have gotten slow - groups have not been as plentiful since 2020 - for lots of reasons. Age, hectic lives and probably the economy have taken a toll on all of us.

I had some hefty expenses in 2025 that really wiped me out. Utilities and insurance have gone up (I am sure you have noticed with your own finances!) So, when you put all of that together, I can’t ignore the facts. I am closing Le Retreat House. It has been a great ride since 2006 but no one goes into business to lose money - or take money from a retirement account - that is a bad gamble!

people more than I can ever express. The friendships I have formed, the talented artists I have met and the joy of hearing your group’s laughter are precious to me.
