Here are some pictures from this past weekend’s production of Arsenic and Old Lace. Many of our R.A.C.E. students held lead roles in this production, and their talent continues to shine. An integral part of the R.A.C.E. program is our emphasis on the Fine Arts.

Parents, if you are looking for ways to help your child become more involved in school, I encourage you to give theatre serious consideration.

Words cannot express how proud I am of these R.A.C.E. students! They completed a community service project at the Gainesville–Hall County Senior Center on Tuesday, and they provided 100% ownership of the entire effort.

They organized games, set up a hot chocolate and cookie bar, led arts and crafts, served lunch, and even guided residents through their dance/exercise class. I simply attended as a school chaperone; they took responsibility for everything else.

These students contacted the center to arrange the visit, created a field trip permission form for their peers, and even stayed after school one day to plan activities and assemble goodie bags.

These kids exemplify everything I want R.A.C.E. to be. Enjoy these pictures and a few videos!
