Every historic house eventually turns a new page. Today is ours.

Our new sign is up: High Street Inn.

Over the past few months we’ve grown just a bit—adding one more guest room and officially becoming a small inn.

For now, you’ll still see Miss Murphy’s across our digital platforms so returning guests can easily find us during the transition.

What hasn’t changed?

The house.
The breakfast.
The gardens.
The fireplaces.
And the way we welcome every guest through our doors.

We’re thrilled to introduce ourselves as the new keepers of Miss Murphy’s Bed & Breakfast. Over the past few months, Caroline has welcomed us with the same graciousness she’s shared with every guest who’s walked through these historic doors. We’re so grateful for her generosity, her guidance, and the “world’s fluffiest pancakes” legacy she leaves behind. 💕

Before landing in Galena, our careers in global health and academia took us from West Africa to Lesotho, Oxford to Mexico. We’ve spent decades managing complex programs, solving daily challenges in new places, and welcoming people from all walks of life. Along the way, we’ve stayed everywhere from humble guesthouses to grand hotels, learning to appreciate what makes a stay truly memorable—attention to detail, thoughtful touches, and the ability to make guests feel at home especially when they’re far from their own. Now, we’re bringing that same spirit to Miss Murphy’s, blending vintage charm with modern comforts to create a space where every visit feels unique.
