High above the Mississippi, tucked nicely in the hills near historic Galena, Chestnut Mountain is a premier Illinois resort that offers nineteen trails 7 acre terrain "The Farside" featuring over 30 rails & features, which span 220 rolling acres with a total vertical drop of 475 feet. “Chestnut Mountain Resort is an absolutely amazing place to get married. The views are spectacular, the staff at the venue are beyond kind and caring, and the amenities were great! My husband and I wanted to get married in a state closer to family. So we did a destination wedding here at Chestnut Mountain Resort. We are from California and have never been to Galena, IL before. As any bride to be can assume, planning a destination wedding just adds a whole new layer of worry and stress to wedding planning. But! Shera made the whole process a BREEZE! She worked with my husband and I to ensure that all our needs were met, that all our questions were answered, and genuinely put my mind at ease that my wedding day would be wonderful. Shera communicated with us every step of the way and made sure to explain everything (even when I asked the same question like 5 times due to wedding planning brain).
