Our Story

1000 3rd Street is a historic Galena home that was built in 1856 and belonged to the Snyder family until 1947. When Joan Hudson decided to renovate and reopen the bed-and-breakfast there, she wanted to pay homage to the family and changed our name to Alice's Snyder House Bed and Breakfast. Now each of our three rooms has a unique personality, like Fanny’s Room with sunny yellow walls and vintage handiwork or Lucretia's Suite with great views of nearby historic houses. And with our gourmet breakfast and calming front porch, you’ll be able to relax and enjoy all that Galena, IL, has to offer.
