Cast Away Cottage is located just outside of Galeton, PA in beautiful Potter County. Rates are $125 per night or $700 per week (6 nights) plus tax. These rates are for up to 4 adults. Each additional adult is $10 per night. We offer a 20% discount to Veterans/Military. We welcome families, hunters, anglers, ATV explorers, star-gazers...all who wish to relax and enjoy the beauty of Potter County an

d nearby. We offer a mudroom for your fishing and hunting gear. Visit Lyman Run State Park and Lake for hiking, fishing, kayaking and ATV riding. View the stars at Cherry Springs State Park - the only Dark Sky Park on the east coast. Fish the nearby streams and lakes, including Pine Creek. Take in colorful views of Pine Creek Gorge - well known as the PA Grand Canyon. Shop in downtown Galeton, Wellsboro or Coudersport. Take a ride on horse drawn covered wagon.

Good Morning from Cast Away Cottage!
The sun is shining, the birds are singing and the bunny is having some breakfast.
The only thing missing is you!

We had many visitors last night - a fox, a 'possum, a raccoon, and a doe.

You can be a visitor, too.
Message us to get on the calendar. Creatures of the people variety are even invited to enjoy their stay both outside AND inside at Cast Away. Just please don't tell all our furry friends. 🤫

We had a mama bear and her cub pass through overnight. So sweet.

We've got some summer and fall dates open at Cast Away. Message us to come for a visit.

Jim, Abi and I have been in Jim Thorpe this weekend with Jim's sister, her husband, our neice, great-neices and great-nephew. This morning the kids spotted one of our favorite PA wildlife from our Airbnb's living room window. We love seeing bears wherever we are!

Ms. Deer and Mr. Bear both seemed to be trying not to be caught on camera last night.

This little one either got scared away from where Mama left it or it's just being naughty.
About an hour later, Mama is back and calling to her fawn.

Mama and - not one, not two, but THREE - little fur balls just passed through. The curious little straggler running to catch up...🥰

No bears today, but we did see a deer as she hurried through twice and the bunnies were out and about, including one who devoured a dandelion.

The yard at Cast Away is a thoroughfare for many animals that live nearby. Last evening we had two bears make their way by -- one at 6:30; one at 8 -- and a doe passed through around 10pm. We have great neighbors here - both the human and creature kind.

We invite you to come sit on the deck or around the fire ring for some wildlife watching.
