Boy Scouts got nuthin’ on vintage folks. We take “Be Prepared” to a whole nutha level! 🛺

Seven years ago today, I found this Art Deco buffet with nothing but my golf cart to get it home. Good thing I had ratchet straps on board. One slow ride through Galveston later, it made it home. And it sold! 💙

Say hello to the newest arrivals: a 1960s Lane hope chest with a moody black-and-red upholstered top, and a sleek MCM walnut night stand on tapered legs. They’re in good company with a showstopping red Norman Bel Geddes Simmons metal dresser, a tiger oak Arts & Crafts buffet with grain for days, and a warm MCM teak credenza.

And a fond farewell to the Drexel Compatica dresser and the solid oak antique kitchen cabinet. Both found new homes! 👋 Good pieces don’t stick around long.

Texas is far too hot to work outside right now, so this little Victorian desk has taken over my dining room.

The work is slow because every leaf, curve and carved detail needs attention. I’ve cleaned a bunch and made real progress, but she’s still not finished. At this point, she may think the dining room belongs to her.

Blue Skies is now Blue Heron and has a new very nice owner’s. I visited with them the other day and got to see the home. If you are looking for a rental in Galveston the amenities and location are hard to beat. 🙂
