Art week

Art Week Galveston is back from Jan 19-25. It’s a week of art, food, music, and creativity around the Historic Downtown Cultural Arts District. Some events are free, some are ticketed, and they are all very Galveston!

They say time moves differently on the island, and looking back at this year, it’s easy to see why. 2025 marked some meaningful milestones for us. It has been:

• 200 years since the PORT OF GALVESTON was established
• 180 years of the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce
• 160 years since Juneteenth
• 140 years since The Great Fire
• 130 years of The Grand 1894 Opera House
• 125 years since The 1900 Storm

It’s more than a list of dates. It’s a reminder that this island has many layers and a whole lot of grit. No matter what has been thrown at this city over the last two centuries, Galveston has always found a way to rebuild and keep going! 🌊⚓️🏛️
