ALDC - All Liberian Diaspora Conference

ALDC - All Liberian Diaspora Conference The All Liberian Diaspora Conference (ALDC) is Liberia's premier run think tnank of professional organizations and individuals outside of Liberia.

The ALDC began on April 25 -26, 2015, when the largest gathering of Liberian organizations as the first post-elections All Liberian Diaspora Conference at the famous Churchill Hotel, located in Washington D.C, just ten minutes away from the historic Davis Hotel, where prominent Americans met nearly 200 years ago, on December 16, 1816 to form what is today LIBERIA! The purpose of ALDC conferences i

s to rethink our ethical and social actions since the foundation of Liberia nearly 200 years ago, and especially since the last 25years when a brutal civil war destroyed the fabric of our nationhood—a trauma the nation is still reeling from despite ten years of a very fragile democracy. The All Liberian Diaspora Conference, ALDC seeks to bring organizations and individuals that are critical resources for progressive movement-building in Liberia and its diaspora. The conference will address the theme of nation-building through civic education for social, economic, and political engagements, and to create networks across issues and/or communities; to promote home-grown leadership among groups that have been disadvantaged; and to contribute to a shared understanding of the problems of inequality and injustice; and offer a public space for the dialogue needed to identify common principles for genuinely rebuilding our beloved but fragile nation—in the here and now!

Veteran U.S. Marine Clifford Watkins was deployed in Liberia after WWII but disrespected in the USA by a dominant culture that saw him far less than a human. We are so pleased that he has made this land his place for retirement. This man knows so much history. Smell Know Taste and Firestone Rubber Company were his favorite playgrounds.

Please follow us on our new FB postings dubbed, "Do You Know?"

Sierra Leone and Liberia are Africa's wettest nations with the least preparedness for emergency management. These nations lack early warning systems, ranked at the top of poverty, and ironically pay their lawmakers and executive bigly. PRIORITIES!

Fonati Koffa, The Liberian Albatross: nearly a decade ago, President Mama Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf elevated the former US convict who embezzled monies from small town Zebulon, NC, as her lawyer to go after her perceived opponents in Liberia. The man lied that he stole the money of the town to help Africa's oldest democracy. What a shame and disgrace! Can this man be a speaker of Liberia? Absolutely not!

The usage of the term of albatross signals a roving problem that cannot go away no matter what you do.
