The Yellowstone River Motel team would like to extend a huge thank you to our friends and neighbors in the National Park Service - including park superintendent Cam Sholly and all the other park representatives present - for taking time this evening to inform the Gardiner community at large of what the alternatives for the North Entrance road might look like moving forward and how projects may affect Gardiner residents and businesses. We appreciate your time, thoroughness, thoughtfulness, and transparency. Here is info on where to comment:

We came across these sweet photos this morning a guest sent to us from their stay at Yellowstone River Motel with us last summer. This mother-daughter duo and their husky pups enjoyed a much-anticipated family trip to Yellowstone! And though the older husky was vision-impaired, the pup sure knew its way around the motel grounds by scent. Thank you for sharing this touching moment of your vacation with us!

Good morning fellow hospitality folks with lodging in in Gardiner! Boy - are we happy we didn't lose the final two weeks of our season and so are our employees (and we are sure the same goes for you and yours). An appeal to those who can: we have decided to issue "responsible recreation" kits to our customers upon check in. It is a trash bag and - in the trash bag - a roll of toilet paper, a small hand sanitizer, and a note to please "pack it in/pack it out" to help our friends in the park who are still working to keep bathrooms and garbage cans under control. We are also listing facilities with park concessions that are still operational. Together, we can help to mitigate impacts to Yellowstone while we finish out our seasons. We hope this shutdown is resolved quickly for our neighbors who are feeling the impacts of being furloughed!
