One of our favorite months of the summer here at Yellowstone's North Entrance is August! Along with late-season fly fishing, the annual bison rut (mating season), and meteor showers is The Lighting of Teepees. Part of the Voices of Yellowstone: First Peoples Celebration, The Lighting of Teepees symbolizes unity, resilience, and indigenous cultural heritage. We came across these sweet photos this morning a guest sent to us from their stay at Yellowstone River Motel with us last summer. This mother-daughter duo and their husky pups enjoyed a much-anticipated family trip to Yellowstone! And though the older husky was vision-impaired, the pup sure knew its way around the motel grounds by scent. Thank you for sharing this touching moment of your vacation with us!
